The Town of Ponoka and the Ponoka Arts, Recreation and Cultural Society (PARCS) celebrated the grand opening of the new 18-hole disc golf course at Riverside Rotary Park on June 14.
The project was a year-long collaboration that was made possible by a $15,000 donation from PARCS.
Suitable for all skill levels, the course winds through the large open and treed areas of the park, located at 3712 45 St.
“The nice thing about disc golf is it’s actually not intrusive to the overall park usage, which is great,” said Andrew Jones, manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities for the town.
